Ok, this is going to be a fun week. After recent more intense subjects, I’m pretty ready for a week of fun, uplifting, super girly and maybe slightly taboo/crazy blog posts. The theme of this week is all about kick-ass confidence; we’re going to talk feeling sexy & empowered, rocking body confidence, getting real on botox and sticking needles in your face, and how to find your ‘thing’. Obviously, I want to start off with a bang,

Today, all across the globe (literally, the GLOBE, so crazy!) over a million women, men, children, and just generally awesome people marched together to deliver a peaceful, impactful, and empowering message. The photos of the seas of hot pink pussy cat hats and creative signage are enough to get you inspired, but the feeling on the ground was electric. This was a shining example of why I truly believe that together, we can accomplish anything.

Building a life you love isn’t just one thing. Usually, it’s finding a career you’re seriously passionate about, figuring out how to make enough money to do everything that you want to do without stressing over finances, finding someone you love to share your life with, surrounding yourself with awesome friends that support you, and having the time, money, and means to do all the things you like to do. When you put it down on paper like that,

There is a lot of talk all over the place about something called “work-life balance”. There’s a lot of reading material on the subject, but honestly, it’s a little confusing. The traditional model of work/life that always kind of bugged me is this:

  1. Find out what you’re good at
  2. Choose a career where you can use those skills
  3. Work hard, climb the ladder, make money
  4. Use that money to do things you actually enjoy
  5. Try to carve out time outside of work for the “important things”

It’s a new year, and with that usually comes new year’s resolutions. This time of year, the internet is going crazy, flooded with articles about how to stick to your resolutions, how to finally lose weight, and how to make this the year that you make six figures. It’s the same old stuff year after year after year, and honestly? I think we’ve heard it all before. Most people’s resolutions don’t stick past the 30 day mark (hello really enthusiastic two weeks at the gym before Cheetos and Netflix sets back in) and you’ll find literally thousands of blog posts and articles on how to make those resolutions really last this year.

Do you ever have one of those moments where it feels like work is your whole life? As in: you haven’t attended any non blog related social events in months, you talk to more people on Instagram and in blog comment sections than you do in real life, and you have to tear the phone out of your own hands so you stop building your Pinterest boards at 1am? Today, while hanging out in my favorite blog &

If you’re ready to give up, that means you’ve already taken a very important step – you’ve made the leap, taken a risk, done something big! To feel like giving up means you have to have started something already, which is HUGE. It’s also the most important thing to remember when you get to a point that makes you feel like throwing in the towel; at some point in time you wanted to do this,

Today is a day that everyone makes a point to be grateful – after all, it’s Thanksgiving! It’s a day to let your loved ones know you love them, text the friends you haven’t talked to in months, think about the things you love in your life, and say ‘thanks’ before you chow down on a (huge) amount of food. It’s a great holiday; honestly, I’m a sucker for any holiday that heavily revolves around food and allows me to wear something that I may or may not have purchased in the Target maternity section (the dresses are cute and roomy,

I’m currently on a work trip slash vacation, and I have been glued to my phone the entire time – which isn’t that weird since I’m always Instagramming, blogging, taking photos, and keeping notes – but that’s not why I’ve been digitally addicted these past few days instead of enjoying a change up in routine.

There have been some stress points and issues at two of my freelance positions lately,

This week has been a crazy one. Whether you’re thrilled or devastated about the recent change in the US leadership, there’s no doubt that you’ve noticed the huge increase in hateful, angry, negative posts all over social media and the web – from both sides.

Politics aside, this election has brought out a lot of passion in people, in many ways. For me, it’s reminded me of the importance of remembering how much power we hold as individuals and how important it is to actually USE that power.
